Precious Girls Foundation is an international non-profit organization that is established with a mission to eliminate period poverty, which is unfortunately a pain point and stigma in our society. Our tenets are:
Spreading awareness on menstrual sanitation is paramount and is the foundation’s primary motivation. This subject is considered a taboo and is looked down upon in contempt. There is also, understandably, an added sensitivity for young girls to engage in discussions pertaining to this subject primarily driven by shyness and/or diffidence. A combination of these makes the task of spreading awareness on menstrual sanitation all the more challenging.
Precious Girls Foundation consciously prioritizes spreading awareness on menstrual sanitation and associated health risks in absence of this sanitation. We strive to break down the walls of taboo and breach the barriers of diffidence. We have partnered with manufacturing unit to manufacture eco friendly pads which are biodegradable.
Establishing and/or leveraging a framework that facilitates distribution of sanitary pad supplies to underprivileged children is imperative to execute our vision to eliminate period poverty. This framework can be pre-existing, established by Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) or other social groups. These frameworks are rails that ensure children ultimately receive the sanitary supplies.
We have partnered with NGOs like SKY Seva Foundation and Sphoorti Foundation that has the necessary rails to help with our mission.
SKY Seva Foundation (shortly SKY) is a non-profit grassroots organization formed by the coming together of individuals from all walks of life, with twin objectives to promote mental health and provide moral and social support to those who need the most. Born out of a sense of responsibility and concern for the challenged and specially-abled children, SKY has expanded to promote mental health programs to people of all the ages.
